lol youtube is random get it???

Seriously, what does this have to do with YouTube in any way? Most of these subjects don't even seem to relate to YouTube, unless you try to look way too deep into this.

From what I guess, this is about the Fair Use issues on YouTube, but the only reason why I know that is because of the description. If I didn't have the description to know what this is parodying, this video would have been just about a cat who fucks up stuff, and that he is coincidentally named YouTube. Without the description, (which most people don't even read by the way) the video itself would have had me confused and not know what's going on.

So lets take a look at what happened in this "cartoon."

Near the beginning, some guy is watching Steven Universe on the television, and YouTube (the cat) knocks over the TV. What? So what does this have to do with YouTube? It fucks up the video? Copyright? That scene was so vague and nothing was going on to let the viewer know what was happening. If anything, you could have called this "Cute Cat Adventures" and just have the cat knock over the TV. At least that would make more sense, since it's about a normal cat, not a cat trying to be YouTube.

Next scene has the owner (presumably the creator of this cartoon) talking on the phone to someone else, and then the cat fucks it up by disconnecting the cord. Again, what does this have to do with YouTube? Nothing at all. If anything, you should have called the cat Skype and explain why that program is shit for quite a few reasons. That would make more sense than YouTube. With that first scene, the cat could represent share-screening a video on Skype, and how that feature is laggy and doesn't work half the time. Second scene could be Skype always disconnecting while the two people are talking. Again, Skype would make a lot more sense, instead of YouTube.

Next scene has the guy on his laptop visiting Tumblr. Seriously, I thought this was about YouTube, not Tumblr. So now this is parodying a completely different website? Okay then. Anyways, it's just YouTube the cat being a pain by going in front of the laptop screen. What is this supposed to represent? YouTube videos keep showing up on Tumblr? The man getting distracted by watching videos? The man is scared about watching TV in general, so he goes on Tumblr to explain about how much more superior YouTube is? How am I supposed to know what is going on.

Last scene before the credits just has the cat burning down the house. Why is the guy still in the house when it's burned down? How is he unaware of what just happened. Is this supposed to represent the guy losing his own YouTube channel? Again, the same complaint as last time, how am I supposed to know what this is parodying.

This is a very mediocre start for writing parodies, but you really need to learn what the issue is and how you are going to make fun of it.

As for the animation, it sucks, but I guess you are still starting out, so I won't take any points off of that. Music was just public domain songs that everyone has heard hundreds of times, nothing new there. Voicing was lukewarm, felt very uninspired and at times was just painful to listen to, nothing major.

I talked to some pals about this cartoon and they were just as confused by this. We came to the conclusion that this is presumably about Steven Universe cartoons being taken down off of YouTube. Of course those cartoons would have been taken down! Its copyrighted material. That's what television cable or buying DVD's are for, to watch those cartoons, not to be watched online for free, unless you want to be a pirate (yarr-harr).

Conclusion is: this was poorly written and animated. Try again next time, babe.

CaptainCinnamon responds:

To be honest, you are right. I really should have been more clear with it. The TV was meant to represent that YouTube was taking down videos for no reason. Steven Universe was just meant to represent those videos, but I see how it looks more like YouTube is actually taking down an episode that shouldn't legally be on YouTube anyway. The phone call and tumblr scene were supposed to represent how some people aren't safe even talking about TV shows/movies on YouTube. But again, I can see how this is confusing, especially with the fact that I used a different website for an example. Overall, I need to work on writing better so my future animations will actually make sense. Also, thank you for understanding that I'm just starting out with animation, but I honestly could do a whole lot better if my home wasn't so stressful, but I'm not going to go on any further with that because it's personal stuff.

I'm just really glad this cartoon's finished and done so I can start over and try to do something I can actually be proud of. Thank you for the review.

Mobilesworld lyrics (WITH ALEX!!!!)

Mobilesworld!
Mobilesworld!
Spoken: Sorry, whose world is it?
Mobilesworld!

With Ryan!
(Blue Parrot Hoodie!)
Both angry and rude, maybe it's the smarts, maybe it's the 'tude,
One thing's for certain, he doesn't make sense,
Half the time is gibberish and the other half's ingooblyblench!

Ryan: What?

And Urbs!
(Purple Hoodie! Also green Disgust overcoat?)
No one likes him as much as himself,
He's got a formidable chin, though he doesn't know that word,
Cause he's got the intelligence of a kitchen shelf!

Urbs: Hey!

Alex!
(Red Asuka Hoodie!)
Obsessed with guns,
When he was around, the show was more fun,
He's the one that they tried to replace,
If you mess with him he'll shoot you in the face

Asuka: Yup

Mobile!
(Green Corgi Hoodie!)
Usually the leader,
Probably the first of them all to poke fun,
He's the artist, he loves cola,
And he's always trying to make a pun.

Spoken: Probably due to his linguistic…..Mobile…. MOBILE-ucation?

Mobile: That's terrible.

Mobilesworld!

good job on that video by the way, papa mobile

Hearing that Kevin Macleod "Marty Gots a Plan" song in every cartoon really wants me to shoot myself now. To be fair, I used it myself for cartoons and I was apart of the problem, but goddamn, does everyone have to use that song?

Aside from that, it's another League of Legends parody. Not my cup of tea, considering I don't play these games, so I'm sure I don't understand the joke in this. I would say to not do parodies, since the only videos you have uploaded are Mario Maker parodies or jumping on recent trends (Leonardo DiCaprio getting an Oscar), but considering that is the only way of getting views and popularity, I guess I can't stop you there.

You have a nice style for your animations, but it is just a shame to see you only do gaming or pop-culture videos.

Happy birthday, big boy.

Fucking beautiful. I'm glad people are still posting original and quality content like this on Newgrounds.

Alex is Mario, isn't he

FUck

I am never going to spend 6 or 7 months working on a collab about Disgust ever again.

MobileSpider responds:

hello sir

I've never really watched Eddsworld, so I don't know if this is a joke or parody of one of their episodes, but this took me literally 5 times to understand what was happening in this cartoon. Here's what I got:

So it starts with Edd, finding cocaine (is this a joke from the show?), and gets joyful seeing it. He snorts it and dies instantly? Alright, a bit of an odd choice to pick, considering in reality Edd died of cancer in 2012. Just joking about cancer is disgusting to me, but if you must, go ahead. So, after his head is on the ground and is presumably dead, we hear Rocko's Modern Life mayo music. Afterwards, we see Tom and Matt(?) upset, upon finding dead Edd's corpse on the ground. By this point I just realized this whole thing was a joke by hearing the sarcastic tone of the voice saying "fuck Eddsworld, more like DEADS world, ha ha". It then ends with a fan art picture of the 3 characters, which has no point being in this cartoon whatsoever.

Side note: From what I remember, people told me you ran the "Eddsworld Kids" and "Bad Eddsworld Fan Art" Twitter accounts, so I don't know why you have a major problem with them, or if it's because you heard me and MobileSpider say the term "Eddsworld Kid" as a joke and you want that term to become a major phrase. Sure, those kids have heavily inspired styles by Edd, but you gotta remember, they are 12 to 15, the same age as us, and most of them haven't found out what their true style is. When I started doing animations on Flash in late 2012/early 2013 (I was 12 at the time), they were either shitty sprite animations of EarthBound and Mario, or me ripping off the drawing style of Joe Murray, Aaron Long or Cordell Barker. We were all inspired to draw similarly to someone we look up to, and those kids look up to Eddsworld. I understand if you are annoyed with "Eddsworld Kids", as I was annoyed with them for a while too, but I realized there was no need to, and I would probably have been heavily inspired by Eddsworld if I did watch it and become a fan.

Back to the cartoon. The credits music was nice,it was straight to the point, and the Studio Congafish logo appears. Alright. When I watched this entire cartoon the first time, I didn't laugh, I was just confused. The timing was really off for jokes or actions, and I was just disappointed with the whole thing. To be fair, I still have terrible timing with my cartoons (being incredibly too fast, people saying its ASDFmovie-fast bad), and it's a hit or miss with most people. Some really enjoy the crazy random antics of my cartoons, while other people dislike it and say my timing is way too fast. It's just something we all gotta learn, and once we get to master that, the cartoons you produce will be much better.

You've been animating for quite a while, and I really want to see you improve, and I know you will, I just hope you put more time and effort when you do another parody like this in the future. At this moment of time, the video is at a 0.97/5, which is a rare rating to achieve, as most videos get blammed at this rating when it's in Under Judgement.

Alright, while writing this review, I decided to watch some Eddsworld videos to see if there was any joke I missed that could have been referenced in this video. Instead I just wasted my time because I didn't find any. However, I have a dumb suggestion that you could use next time if you do another "Eddsworld" parody. Instead of cocaine, maybe its sugar, since Edd has an obsession with cola which is full of sugar, hence why he did a video called "Sugar, Sugar" about him singing his love for it. Yeah, I know, dumb joke, but it would at least stay on character for Edd.

Overall, this is the "first" cartoon I've seen from Studio Congafish, and what a masterpiece to start it off with.

Stay safe~

Lukewarm-Goofy Impression and Frozen. Both of those things I'm not the biggest fan of. Many people can do a Goofy voice very well, so I was a bit disappointed with the impression of Goofy I heard on this cartoon. Does it affect the cartoon? No, but it would have been nice if it were better, but that's not really a big deal.

Frozen is an odd thing to parody at this time, as it's hype died quite a while back, and you are still too early for Frozen 2, but once again, that isn't a very big deal. The idea is a bit random, but it was probably the best it could have been executed. Felt a bit short, but it was overall alright. Most of the animation was pleasant to look at as well, which is a plus. I'm kind of rambling with this review, but the conclusion is to keep up the good work man.
